Geothermal energy holds enormous potential to power Europe’s clean heat transition, yet much of this renewable resource remains untapped. Why? The temperature of available geothermal heat does not always meet the needs of end users, while technical challenges such as mineral scaling can limit heat recovery and system performance.
GEOFLEXheat is working to change that. By integrating advanced heat exchange, scaling reduction, high-temperature heat pumps and thermal energy storage, the project is developing innovative ways to extract, upgrade and use geothermal heat more flexibly — opening the door to new applications and a wider range of heat demands.
As GEOFLEXheat moves towards its demonstration phase, this webinar will showcase how the project aims to bridge the gap between geothermal resources and real-world heat demand. From overcoming technical barriers to exploring new opportunities for industrial heat users, we’ll look at how surplus geothermal heat can be transformed into a valuable resource.
What will you discover?
- The GEOFLEXheat vision: Discover the project’s key challenges, innovative approach and integrated solution.
- Breaking down barriers: Explore the obstacles that limit the wider use of geothermal heat and how they can be overcome.
- Smarter heat recovery: Learn how the project tackles mineral scaling and improves geothermal heat utilisation.
- From potential to practice: Discover the Kópsvatn case and how surplus geothermal heat could be upgraded and redirected to new applications.
- Unlocking new opportunities: Discuss how flexible geothermal heat solutions could create value for industrial users and other heat consumers.
Join us to explore how geothermal heat can go further, matching renewable heat resources with real-world needs and unlocking new possibilities for Europe’s energy future.
