We often get asked what an EU trade association like ours does.
So we thought we’d pull back the curtain and give examples of some of the things the European Heat Pump Association has done so far this year. Are you ready?!
We’ve advocated for heat pumps and presented our positions in many meetings, including with EU Commissioners, Members of the European Parliament, UK ministries, the International Energy Agency and more.
Our colleagues have spoken at many different conferences, events, meetings and workshops. Everything from keynote speeches to presentations!
We’ve organised multiple events, from high level conferences – most recently, our very successful Heat Pump Forum – to European Parliament discussions, and been present at the major trade fairs.
We’ve built up our work on industrial heat pumps including through partnerships with other industries.
Multiple EHPA reports and data stories have been launched, for example on taxes and levies, energy security, air pollution and of course, our annual heat pump sales and market report.
We continue to defend the Green Deal and a strong implementation of the EU Emissions Trading System 2 – which will put a price on carbon from buildings and support households switching to a heat pump. As well as for the upcoming EU Heating and Cooling Strategy and Electrification Action Plan to include measures that support the sector. Stable support schemes, fair energy taxation and a focus on skills are key.
EHPA is actively contributing to sustainable product regulation development, and is leading work on new grid connection code and certification scheme for heat pumps. And EHPA continues to be active in the EU Commission’s Heat Pump Accelerator Platform.
The second ever Heat Pump Day takes place on 21 October and will be marked by events across Europe, coordinated overall by EHPA. These include the launch of the first ever Heating Transition Colouring Book!
We reached 25,000 followers on our LinkedIn profile, revamped much of our website, and pushed forward the Clean Heat Europe coalition.
We have multiple EU-funded projects including new ones kicking off. Certification scheme Heat Pump KEYMARK, which EHPA manages, goes from strength to strength with over 10300 certified models.
All this and we celebrated our 25th anniversary in June with a big party on a spectacular rooftop!
