At least one EHPA member must be involved in each project submitted for an award.

The application deadline is 30 September 2026.

Follow these three steps: 1) Identify the suitable category for your project; 2) fill in the application form online and submit it before 30 September; 3) send additional materials (photos, documents, etc.) via WeTransfer to events@ehpa.org.

You will receive an email with the result of the jury evaluation after 12 November, regardless of the outcome.

If your project wins, we’ll notify you by email and invite you to attend the Heat Pump Awards in Brussels on 1 December. WWe’ll also cover the cost of a hotel room for you, provided you confirm you’ll be attending in person.

Yes, you’re free to apply every year, even with the same project.

Keep in mind the project eligibility requirements, which you will find in the FAQs below.

The People’s Choice Award is decided by public vote. All complete applications automatically participate unless applicants choose to opt out. The project with the most votes – recognised by the public as making the greatest impact – wins the award.

The more technical details and supporting materials provided, the better. Applicants are encouraged to include as much relevant information as possible.

You will receive:

• an automatic email confirming your application has been submitted
• an email once the People’s Choice Award public voting has opened
• an email with the results of the jury evaluation. If you’re one of our four winners, you’ll receive details on the Heat Pump Awards ceremony and an invitation to attend.

If necessary, applicants may contact EHPA via events@ehpa.org with a mention of ‘Heat Pump Awards’ in the subject line. As a general rule, modifications after submission should be avoided, and changes can only be made until 30 September.

No, it’s one category per project. But you can apply with multiple projects under the same category, or if you’re super ambitious, you can submit different projects in all three categories.

This year’s categories are:

• Innovation Award – This category recognises creative and unique solutions using specific techniques, technologies, and systems, specifically related to the deployment of heat pumps. It succeeds the previous Lighthouse Heat Pump category and focuses on projects that stand out for their originality and approach.
• Large Heat Pump Award – This category recognises projects that demonstrate the smart and efficient use of large-scale heat pumps and waste heat in industrial processes, helping to reduce energy consumption and decarbonise industry. It builds on the former DecarbIndustry category.
• Building Solutions Award – This category recognises projects that help decarbonise residential and tertiary buildings through the use of heat pumps and other clean energy solutions. It replaces the previous DecarbBuilding category.

At present, projects without a real-life heat pump implementation cannot be submitted. Practical implementation is an essential part of the evaluation criteria.
