Industrial heat remains a major source of greenhouse gas emissions, accounting for two-thirds of industrial energy demand.  Electrifying heat through clean and efficient technologies such as heat pumps and the Organic Rankine Cycle - a means of converting low-temperature heat into electricity through an organic fluid - is critical for reducing emissions and improving  Europe's energy security.

This event will showcase key findings and recommendations designed to support the implementation of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED) provisions on heating and cooling, driving the transition towards a decarbonised energy sector in Europe.
