The European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Leopoldo Micò as the new Head of the Heat Pump KEYMARK Secretariat. Leopoldo officially assumed his role on Monday, March 24, 2025, succeeding Tarik Bellahcene, who completed his tenure in December 2024.
With extensive experience in renewable energy and certification, Leopoldo previously managed the Solar KEYMARK Secretariat at Solar Heat Europe. His deep knowledge and commitment to advancing certification standards will be invaluable to the Heat Pump KEYMARK scheme and its stakeholders.
Having lived in Brussels for over seven years, Leopoldo brings an international perspective that aligns perfectly with EHPA’s mission. He is dedicated to maintaining high standards and strengthening the impact of the Heat Pump KEYMARK certification.
“I am thrilled to join EHPA and take on this new role. My priority will be to ensure a smooth transition and engage with stakeholders to understand their evolving needs. I look forward to working together to uphold high standards and drive innovation in heat pump certification.” – Leopoldo Micò
In addition to his role with the Heat Pump KEYMARK Secretariat, Leopoldo will also oversee the EHPA Quality Label, coordinating meetings, facilitating communication among National Commissions, and enhancing the programme’s visibility across Europe.
Leopoldo will work closely with Danaé Kokkalis, EHPA’s Senior Communications Officer, who will support him throughout the transition and assist with all tasks related to the Heat Pump KEYMARK and Quality Label. Together, they will continue to foster high standards and strengthen communication within the working groups and beyond.
Leopoldo will also attend the first edition of the Heat Pump Technologies Conference in Milan on April 2-3, 2025. He will deliver a presentation during EHPA’s session on Harmonising EU certification standards for heat pumps on the second day of the event. For more information, click here.
