Part of the site of Brussels’ abattoir in the gritty Anderlecht district was recently reconverted into a lively space that houses cultural events, a food market, a furniture market, cultural activities and more!

Known as the ‘Manufakture’, the building also boasts a heat pump from NIBE to ensure clean heating and cooling. What’s more, there are plans for a future open air swimming pool (which will be the Belgian capital’s first!) which would be able to use waste heat, making it highly sustainable!

Watch the time lapse video of the building of the site.
