Joel Fernandes possesses measurable successes in strategic public-private partnerships, foreign direct investment, international business development and thought leadership positioning. He has over 25 years of professional experience with global organizations working in several countries including Belgium, Switzerland, France, Singapore and India. He has built strong partnerships and networks with sophisticated and influential global institutions such as EU institutions, international governmental agencies, industry bodies, think tanks and academia. 

He is multilingual in English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch and Hindi.  A Postgraduate from the University of Mumbai with a specialisation in Economics & International Business and holds a Masters in Global Leadership from the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with the Wharton Business School, Columbia Business School, London Business School and INSEAD.

Joel joined EHPA in April 2025 as Director European Projects. In this role, he leads the projects team, supporting them in implementing EU projects focusing on the clean energy transition.
