The RESKILL4NETZERO project aims to create and test an EU wide scalable blueprint fro the critical job profiles needed to address the skilled labour force shortage in the renewable energy industries. The project will focus on high demand technical and engineering job roles that require common skills and competences relevant across most of the renewable energy industries, including green, digital and safety-related skills.

The objective is to create a clearly defined Skills Strategy for these specific high demand roles across the renewables sector, develop and test a VET training programme of modular and flexible training courses to enable workers to acquire these skills, and provide an EU recognised certification that confirms the required skills and competences have been acquired at a satisfactory level.

The RESkill4NetZero project will create a renewable energy talent pool by establishing a network of skilled technicians and engineers who can transition seamlessly across industries such as Batteries, Solar, Wind, Hydrogen, Geothermal, and Critical Raw Materials. It will develop a standardized skills blueprint, identifying key competencies in green, digital, and safety-related areas, and outlining clear career pathways within the sector.

To ensure industry-wide recognition, the project will implement an EU-certified training and certification programme, piloting a 50-hour curriculum available in at least five European languages and incorporating the latest learning technologies. A modular and flexible VET training programme will be designed to support career transitions and reskilling into renewable energy.

Through a targeted communication campaign, RESkill4NetZero will promote the training programme to academia, employment agencies, and training providers while engaging in sectoral outreach to drive skills standardization. The project will also attract workers from other sectors by showcasing long-term career opportunities in renewables, particularly in transition regions.

Aligned with EU initiatives, RESkill4NetZero will work closely with the RE Large Scale Partnership and Net Zero Academies to ensure sustainability and maximize synergies. By strengthening collaboration with Industry Associations, it will contribute to a unified European standard for renewable energy skills, fostering a skilled and adaptable workforce for the green transition.
