The price on emissions from buildings must be socially just: joint letter

From 2027, EU buildings and road transport which pollute will have to pay to do so. This will be under a carbon market known as the ‘Emissions Trading System 2’.

This carbon price will help bring down emissions, but it must be done in a socially just way.

What that in mind, this joint letter calls for an EU lending facility to help governments borrow money to support investments that help the most vulnerable households begin to switch to clean solutions already today.
